Dr. Johnson is a board-certified pediatric dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He has provided pediatric dental care to children in the Rockford Area since 1992. Dr. Johnson attended and received his bachelor’s from Midland Lutheran College, Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa, and master’s from Northwestern University. During his residency, he also served as chief dental resident at the Children’s Memorial Hospital (now Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago).
Dr. Johnson annually attends continuing education courses that enable him to stay at the forefront of his specialty, to provide optimal care for his patients. He served in leadership positions of local and national professional organizations and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists, American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and Winnebago County Dental Society. He is a fellow with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Johnson and his wife Karen have four sons — Kyle, Adam, Justin, and Zach — as well as five grandchildren.
Dr. Johnson enjoys reading, travel, and staying active by lifting weights, walking, running, and biking. He is pursuing a theological degree at Moody Theological Seminary to be completed in December 2021.
